Outline of hull corrosion protection system
During the voyage, the hull itself and the propeller shaft corrode due to the potential difference between the various parts of the hull. ICCP avoids electrolytic corrosion caused by the potential difference between various parts of the hull by sending a current to the anode attached to the outside of the hull. In addition, the propeller shaft grounding device avoids this phenomenon called spark erosion by grounding the propeller shaft to the hull.
